The Heights apartment complex, as its name would suggest is located at the top of Los Cristianos, giving it spectacular views of the whole town and out to the ocean. The complex is modern and all the apartments have been well furnished and are spacious. There is a communal pool which is heated in the winter months with a poolside bar, serving food and drinks all day. Although the community rules state that the complex must be quiet between 11pm and 8am, there is entertainment avaialble every night within a short walk of the complex. It is approximately a 15 minute walk to the nearest beach. There are numerous excellent restaurants within 100 metres of the complex, including Spanish, Mexican and English restaurants.
Location
Twenty minute (20 euro) taxi journey from Tenerife Sofia airport. The old town of Los Cristianos is about 15 minutes walk or a 3 euro taxi ride for the less energetic. The old town has pedestrian access only and is a hive of restaurants and shops leading down to the harbour and beach. The beach front is tiled and it is possible to walk along the front to Las Americas and beyond. All sorts of water sports are available at the beach which is imported yellow, not volcanic sand.
Boats leave the harbour many times a day to watch the whales and also deep sea fishing. Fred Olson ferry boats leave daily from the harbour and it is possible to take a day trip to La Gomera. The boats can be clearly seen arriving and departing the harbour from your seat on the apartment balcony. The island of La Gomera can also be seen as can the volcanic mountain El Teide, the highest peak in Spain. A visit to El Teide is recommended, there is a cable car that runs to the top. Don't forget to take warm clothes though as despite the heat at ground level the top is often covered in snow. The apartment itself sleeps four but it is possible to hire addition beds and cots in the complex.
